The Beth Mince Scholarship. Mullins International Academy is announcing The Beth Mince Scholarship for the upcoming ABC’s of Customs Brokerage which is designed to introduce new professionals to international importation. The training program is to prepare persons in entry-level administrative positions for careers supporting customs brokerage functions and international trade.

This program will provide participants with the soft skills and technical training to be able to function successfully as an import administrator, as the first step toward a career in international trade, and can be an excellent refresher course for anyone involved in international import and trade matters.

NCBFAA Webinar:
CBP Quota Branch EU Steel/Aluminum and Prorated Entries
On Wednesday, March 30th from 2 – 3 pm ET, Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Trade, Quota Branch will provide an overview of Section 232 filing processes and instructions for quota entries with a focus on European Union Steel and Aluminum imports. 


The presentation will also include general guidance on procedures for claiming quota on entries that are “apportioned” when a particular country limit is reached. CBP staff will be available for a Q&A period and discussion of Section 232 program updates as of March 30, 2022.


Presenter
Drew Vielhaber is a Marine Corps veteran with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He has been a 911 dispatcher in Northeast Ohio where he grew up and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania. Drew joined CBP’s Office of Trade in the Quota Branch in 2019 and he’s been a federal employee since 2015. 


In the Quota Branch, Drew focuses on Section 201 imports of residential washing machines and solar cells and manages quota commodities that fall under the Central American Free Trade Agreement. In 2021 Drew began working closely with the Department of Commerce, the US Trade Representative and CBP stakeholder offices to implement the Section 232 Steel and Aluminum TRQ for European Union Member Countries.
